Aurora, IL. – August  8th, 2024

As another summer comes to an end, we are saying goodbye to this year’s interns who helped the Scientel team with various departmental tasks over the last few months. Having our largest group to date, Scientel welcomed 12 interns, a temporary place on our team. With interests ranging from Marketing, Management, Computer Science, Engineering, Cybersecurity, and Business, we were able to develop a greater understanding of each student’s needs and create a guided path based on interest.

“We have worked to establish an internship program that helps students focus on both personal and professional growth. Students are given hands-on experiences which range from fieldwork to accounting, marketing, and operational tasks. Our goal as a company is to ensure we are exposing students to the ever-changing technological advancements within the networking, security, and drone technology focus areas.”

– Dustin Mills, Human Resource Manager

One goal established as a company this year was to allow these individuals to gain access to new software, technology, and devices that they may not have available to them otherwise.

“During my internship, the most memorable project was when I had to learn Adobe Express from scratch to create engaging visual content for a marketing campaign. Initially, it was challenging to navigate the new software and understand its features. However, as I explored its capabilities and experimented with different design elements, I gained confidence and successfully delivered a series of creative and impactful graphics that received positive feedback from the team.”

– Isabelle Hetterich, Scientel Intern

Learning new applications was not the only thing Scientel wanted to provide students. To allow for a greater understanding of the technology components the team works with daily, the technicians brought engineering students along for the ride. After being certified in OSHA 10 and studying project-specific technology, they were ready to enter the field and bring what they learned into a real-life experience on rooftop installs and by practicing camera configurations on demo equipment. Over the years students have consistently praised this program for the opportunity to enter a corporate setting and provide clarity on the direction they choose to take while finishing up their college education.

“On a professional level, I have gained experience and comfortability within a work environment.”

– Harry Casher, Scientel Intern

As a company, we look forward to providing students with more internship opportunities, or even offering a permanent place on the Scientel team down the road.
