Aurora, Ill. – June 10, 2022 –
Event Has Raised over $435,000 Over Past Five Years to Support Community Groups.
Scientel Solutions, a leading technology integrator headquartered in Aurora, recently held its fifth annual “Putting for Veterans” golf tournament at White Eagle Golf Club and raised over $100,000 at this year’s event. Scientel designated two local charities to be recipients of this year’s proceeds, Naperville Responds for Veterans and the Aurora Veterans Advisory Council.
“The needs of our local veteran community continue to evolve, and we’re grateful for the continued support of Scientel, White Eagle, and the donors who raised over $100,000 for their neighbors in need this year. Last year, we completed nearly $250,000 worth of projects in our community through the generosity of the local community.”
– Dan Jurjovec, President of Naperville Responds for Veterans
Naperville Responds for Veterans focuses on helping veterans and their families improve their homes. The group coordinates improvements and repairs such as replacing doors, making homes wheelchair accessible, and other improvements that enhance the family’s quality of life. The Aurora Veterans Advisory Council plans and develops a variety of veteran assistance programs throughout the city. According to Vice Chair Randy Fischer, the group intends to use this year’s tournament donation to finish the training of three service dogs as well as offer grant and bill assistance programs. To date, the Scientel tournament has raised over $435,000 for local veteran organizations.
“Giving back to the community is a core value at Scientel and hosting this event to raise money for local veterans is one of the highlights of our annual philanthropic efforts. It’s important that the business community continually show our appreciation for veterans and support their transition back to civilian life. We thank all of the sponsors and supporters of this year’s event and know these groups will make a difference in the lives of our neighbors.”
– Nelson Santos, founder, and CEO of Scientel
In addition to hosting the golf tournament, the fundraising invent includes the presentation of quilts to veterans by the esteemed Quilt of Valor Foundation. At this year’s ceremonial presentation, the organization gave nine area veterans a Quilt of Valor. The sponsors and donors to this year’s event included: Bloomhaven, KWCC, Homeside, Penn Gaming, NRFV, American Commercial Bank & Trust, Rich Harvest Farms, Glass Solutions, Inc., Parker Electric, Cordogan Clark & Associates, Fortinet & Jet Speed USA.
